Pocketeers,
Are u doing any sports?
of course u do, its just that if u'r not
serious into it till going for championship,
u might be doing it with friends and family.
So what type of sports are u doing?
Rock Climbing?
Tennis?
Badminton?
Wave-surfing?
(No! net surfing is not a sport!)
Baking?
(No! that is also not a sport!)
So when u'r first thinking of diving
into one particular sport world,
there must be one issue we need to
think about. Now i'm putting aside
other factors such as body weight
and strength cause not much discussion
there ok..
U cant do kick-boxing if u'r equiped
with an extra 'Butter' on the belly
right?
Ok.. enough mengarut,
When u'r thinking of starting a sport,
u need to buy the equipment.
Some facility provides with equipment
to rent. Some need to buy.
the question is.. which to buy?
Basically a badminton racquet
only devided into two..
the cheap one,
where it is sold in sets of 2 racquet
and 3 shuttle-cocks, with pricess much
less then what u pay for your average
dinner and the material is so cheap
that it'll definitely bent by the
fourth usage.
or!
the expensive one,
where the price can go up to quater of
your monthly salary and the racquet is
lighter then the shuttlecock with material
that will not bent even if u throw it
to the rambutan tree to retrieve the
stuck shuttle cock.
We will be comfortable to do the sport
we've never done before in our life.
It'll be a lot easier using the proper
equipment and chances are..
u'll be better in the sport in no time.
But pocketeers,
we dont know the game..
If we buy the expensive one,
we'll never know what sweetness the
money we paid for? THe lightness?
The swiftiness? we'll never know!
cause we never use the cheap and heavy
racquet that u need to use both hand
just to wave it around.
ok fine.. then lets buy the cheap one
first just to start it all.
we'll upgrade it to the good yonex
or any other 'jenama' they have
to feel the 'sweetness'
The problem is..
chances are we'll never make it
to any pertandingan cause we will
lose interest by our 26th swing..
(Ko ingat baseball bat ker aper?)
and the cheap racquet will be our
mother's pengetuk karpet.
Not only with racquet u know..
Cheap fishing rod : RM14
Expensive Fishing rod : RM440
(Shimano, berkeley, abu garcia)
Cheap racing car : RM500
(And old Rear-drive Datsun)
Expensive Racing car : RM160 000
(Sylvia? mitsubishi? honda?
ohh i wont know the name)
Cheap shoes : RM 12.9
(Kasut penguin)
Expensive SHoes : RM319
( Adidas, Nike, and even bata... eh bata?)
So pocketeers,
if u want to try a sport, do you...
Start with the cheap one? then upgrade?
Or start with the good one..
and feel good excelling in the sport?

dancing in frOnt of MTV.is that considered as a sport? i do that every morning if i dun have class :p
ok back to the question,i'm myself not sure.if you think and you know that you wanna take the sport as a serious activity in your life, why not buy the expensive ones straightaway ?
but then i think its better to buy the cheap one first and see your progress,if you think the thing that was stopping you to do better is the equipment then only you buy the expensive one i guess.loss interest?read lee chong wei's autobiography and hopefully you can get the firing passion back!

Hi Pocket! When it comes to sport, semangat nak komen ;)
Hmm... In terms of starting a new sport, I prefer to use cheapo cheapo things first. Heh. And then, if I improve I'll reward myself with a more expensive one.
Yeah, but the cheapo ones like you said have some disadvantages... Expensive ones are of course better... But learn the hard way first, success will be sweeter ;)
Pockett ! rindu seh nk terjah poket dan diterjah oleh poket =)
oh ya.. kdg2 mhal pun tak guna jgk.. at last sngkut kt pkok rmbutan ..heheh.. so beli yg brpatutan dgn aktviti.. adkah kita seorg atlet ? erkk.. sukma pon xnmpk muka.. hahaa..

aku selalu start with cheap one.
kasut futsal pertama aku, harganya RM49.
heheh.adidas golok.
sekarang ni, ok la sket, nike.
plan nak jual la.
dah tak guna dah.
makin jarang main futsal.
dah tak macam dulu.
btw salam maulidur rasul pocket :D
asalkan tujuan asal tercapai.. bersukan utk kesihatan...
x kisah.. any reket also can..
=}
i want to play tennis! first time main dulu for 3 hours straight. best! teringin nak belajar the correct way nak main tennis.
futsal pun best jugak! tapi kena cari geng dulu lak.
is shopping considered as sport? :p it's either cheap or expensive, or both. i think i'm good at it :p
hehehe..
well im not a sport person, but i do enjoy playing badminton..& i usually borrow rackets from my cousins, so i dont have to buy anything. & i think the best sport is jogging..hehe..
herm herm herm if it is me. i play sports that im good at which happened not to cost that much of money. so i dont really have a valid opinion on sports that need money to be invest on.
ShaheerahHana,
senam robik is also a sport,
and it can be cheap as well as
expensive. I dont think a fairly comfortable outfit to do the high kick is that cheap.
AnamizuKaito,
pocket pung keja full cuti nih,
ohh bosan..
lagu disco?
the light globe tu tak murah jgak woo!! :D
Sarah,
itu lah,
bila kita heran kenapa back hand tennis kita tak besh, tak tepat.
si pro sekalian kater..
ohh raket tu memang susah sikit...
muler la mata melilau nak cari yg lain.. adehlaa..
Syabab,
Weight lifting laagi mahal beb!!
pernah tengok barbell kat shopping complex berapa hinggit?
tu belum incline bench lagi..
adohlaaaa...
pernah try protein pack diorang?
pergh!!
in the end,
we men would like to own.
yes we can always go to gym the whole life. but the feeling of owning... is priceless.
Zonaku,
net surfing only requires u to twitch your finger muscle a bit here and there only sis :D
tak.. tak berpeluh punyer!!
heheheh
Bashtiah!!
am hoping to see u comment in this :D
am luving your concept!
give better equipment to ourself as a present once we've achieved certain level of kepandaian.
humm so i'll buy myself the joran pancing laut after a hundred of haruans lah kot :D
heheheh
CekBolat,
alaa sis,
takkan nak kena ke sukma dulu baru buleh guna facemask yang mahal mahal utk paint ball tu kot!?
jawabnyer.. sampai ke mati tak merasa lah..
adohh
Saiazuan,
i think they invented shoes and balls for futsal too bro.. and those great jenama comes with 3 digits in the price tags^^
Achik,
Jogging berkaki ayam?
buleh!! after each session,
kena balut kaki melecet n tumit retak :D
check out adidas running shoes sis... they can go RM400!
Dhiera,
sama ngan pocket,
kitorang beli main ikut suka ati jer dulu, tapi syoknyer tak hengat dah..
bila dah tua ni,
kita ada kuasa membeli,
n apa lah sangat kalau
itu menghappykan kita dimasa
keja as well as dimasa riadah.
yonex pun yonex lah :D
ShazwanCD,
Ada kasut adidas kampung.
kononnya kasut orang keja kontrek,
tapi ada tiga line tu so
orang panggil adidas kampung.
(Mungkin sama ngan adidas golok yg kamu sebut tu)
huiyoo!! kasut tu hiker dok cari siot!! pasal murah tapi works as well as the expensive one :D
plus setakat RM5 tu pakai buang pun ok kan :D
FatinMraz,
iyer la,
tp tujuan tercapai tu kekadang makan tiga pat ratus gak..
nak invest tak pandai lagi,
tp kata orang invest kalu mesti senang guna, lagi senang la pandai.
so?
RozeetaRashid,
diorang wat kursus.
kalau tak leh join yang bebetul punyer kursus keluaran sekolah pun, pro for hire dok buat gak klas.
katanya worth the money gak nak hamik..
Aemy,
tak!! shopping bukan sport.
unless shopping kat tetengah panas,
n the goal is to get the best item for the best value lawan ngan team negeri lain. okeh..
yang tu kena belajar kick boxing okeh.. nak lawan rebut kasut itu :D
DhiyaFariza,
and what is that sports u'r saying about sis...
MP3 player is one of the gadgets in jogging already u know.. so plus another RM560 for the Ipod Nano there okeh :D
saya bekerja seperti biasa, dan hanya mampu buat skipping dalam rumah dengan skipping yang harganya tak lebih pun dari RM10. aci tak? ;p
